Pham Thi Hong Van is a career journalist with experience in print, video, and online media. From 2006 to 2017, Van worked for various international and local NGOs in Vietnam (Action Aids International, Save The Children International), a UNREDD+ project of the United Nation funded in Vietnam, and An Giang University. She has a MA in Journalism from West Virginia University, and is currently working for Tuoi Tre, one of Vietnam’s largest media publishers. She focuses on international events, health, and environmental news, and has done field work in Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia. Most recently, Van was recognized at the National Press Awards for her series focusing on her time in South Sudan with the Vietnamese military and the UN, and the Ho Chi Minh City Press Awards for her coverage of COVID-19 in Vietnam.
“Women Energize Women” #womenenergize is a communication initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) within the scope of BMWK’s global project Bilateral Climate and Energy Partnerships and Dialogues.
