Mirelle Segovia Martin, with over eleven years of experience in the energy sector, studied
architecture and earned a master’s degree in renewable energy administration. She has
worked in the construction industry, both public and private, for 10 years, and in the private
sector, developing large-scale wind projects for five years, participating in the design of wind
farms across the country as a project manager.

From 2018 to 2022, she served as Head of
Renewable and Industrial Energy in the Undersecretariat of Energy of the Ministry of
Economic Development and Labor of the government of the state of Yucatan. From January
2023 to February 2024, she worked at the Ministry of Energy Development of Tamaulipas
as Undersecretary of Electricity and Renewable Energy, developing public policy to
implement energy efficiency in public service buildings, collaborating with the private sector
and implementing the development of renewable distributed generation, as well as
promoting energy efficiency measures, renewable energy in the 43 municipalities and their
communities, promoting projects to achieve 100% access to energy for the entire population
in the state.

Since January 2025 to date, she has served as Director of Energy Transition
and Efficiency at the Yucatan Energy Agency, this agency is newly created and the first
agency of its kind in the state dedicated to the energy area. In this position, she has the
powers to develop, to promote, foster, and implement programs, projects, and policies that
encourage a just energy transition, energy access in communities, disseminate and raise
awareness for the implementation of energy efficiency in all sectors, and promote economic,
social, and academic development, always from a perspective of sustainability, inclusion,
and gender equity.

She holds various diplomas in energy efficiency, renewable energy, project finance, public
policy, geomatics, lithium value chain, and senior management. She is the winner of the
2021 Integrity Icon Sustainability Award and a participant in the U.S. Department of State
International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in 2022, the first program focused on
renewable energy as an economic engine. She is a strong advocate for gender equity in the
energy sector and for motivating more girls and young women to join the renewable energy
sector and creating a consistent support system among women.
