Tania Sauma has a a Bsc and a master degree in physics from Universidad de Chile and a PhD from The University of Manchester. She also has a diploma in gender and public policy from Universidad de Chile.
She defines herself as a feminist and during her PhD years was part of Science Grrl UK, an organization to inspire girls to pursue STEM careers.
She was one of the coordinators of President Gabriel Boric’s science government plan and she currently is the Chief of Staff of the Chilean Secretariat of Energy.
Women Energize Women #womenenergize is a communication initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) within the scope of BMWK’s global project Bilateral Climate and Energy Partnerships and Dialogues. From 2021 to 2023 the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) co-implemented the initiative.
