Nadine Kanu

Dr Nadine Kanu is an Energy Policy and Communications Specialist with a successful track record in the energy industry. Since 2018 Nadine works as Head of Department Communications and Marketing at ENERTRAG, a pioneer and hidden champion in the world of Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen. She is a co-opted Board Member of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) e.V., the umbrella organisation of the renewable energy industry. Since 2021 she is Board Member of German Wind Association and recently elected as Vice-President.

On making a difference: 23 years ago Nadine´s interest started off with the regulation of energy markets and evolved towards just energy sector transformation to fight climate change and empower more people. She studied Political Science at Free University of Berlin and continued as a trainee at the European Commission. She received her PhD from University of Twente in the Netherlands and published parts of her thesis with the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies on “European Gas Market Liberalisation: Competition versus security of supply,” where she was a Visiting Fellow. As of 2009 she entered the energy industry working as a Regulatory and Public Affairs Manager in various positions for an Innovative Gas infrastructure Company. Already as of 2010 she discovered her curiosity for Power-to-X and its massive transformative potential which brought her to the Renewable Energies and Green Hydrogen.
