Yutong Lu is a passionate and aspiring energy reporter based in China. With a keen interest in the energy industry, Yutong started her career as an energy intern at Reuters in 2019. It was here that she discovered her curiosity of the field and began to explore exciting opportunities it offered.
After that, Yutong joined Chinese media outlet Caixin as an energy reporter, and one of the things that attracted her to the industry was the growing momentum of China’s renewable energy power, as well as the rapid increase in EV sales.
As China became an important player in the world’s energy transition process, Yutong felt compelled to delve deeper into the industry and uncover the intriguing and fast-changing developments taking place.
“Women Energize Women” #womenenergize is a communication initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) within the scope of BMWK’s global project Bilateral Climate and Energy Partnerships and Dialogues. From 2021 to 2023 the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) co-implemented the initiative and is currently responsible for digital communications of the campaign.
