Researcher and consultant in solar photovoltaics and renewable energy topics. Inspired by being an active part of a just energy transition through her work, currently Kathlen is engaged in promoting energy communities and gender equity in the energy sector in Brazil.
She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and is currently a researcher from the Solar Energy Research Lab (Fotovoltaica-UFSC) and director of the Institute for the Development of Alternative Energies in Latin America (IDEAL).
She was a mentee from GWNET’s 2019 Mentorship Program and is one of the co-founders and coordinators of the Brazilian Women’s Network in Solar Energy (MESol Network).
“Women Energize Women” #womenenergize is a communication initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) within the scope of BMWK’s global project Bilateral Climate and Energy Partnerships and Dialogues.
